The clutch pedal in my ‘85 245 DL feels squeaky and I think the cable possibly needs replacement. Anyone have any experience with a job like this/ or have done this?’thanks all

Not on a Volvo, but my SN95 had to be done a couple years ago. I didn’t even realize that it was wearing out until it snapped. Once the new one was in, I felt what I was missing out on; it was smooth as butter.
Replacement should be pretty straightforward. Make sure you route it properly, avoiding steering or exhaust components. If it has extra sleeves on the cable sheath, position them strategically so they can act as a cushion wherever it makes contact and keep the sheath from wearing through. Don’t forget to adjust it with a little preload.
